Founded in 1997, Rapid Action Packaging Limited (RAP) was formed to exploit the packaging design innovations of Julian Money. Julian’s revolutionary Flexible Food Wrap (FFW) won the prestigious BBC Design Award in 1996.

RAP specialises in the design and manufacture of innovative, ergonomic packaging systems, harnessing the benefits of both paper/film technologies and with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. RAP’s product suite is available in fully compostable and biodegradable materials. Great importance is laid by traceability and sustainability in relation to sourcing of raw materials. Patents are pending on all of RAP’s products.

Product design, sales and administration are based at RAP’s head office in London, whilst production takes place at state of the art, food grade manufacturing plants in the Republic of Ireland, Korea and Malaysia. RAP is ISO 9001 quality assured and also certified in BRC/IOP Technical and Hygiene.

RAP’s history resides in the ‘food on the move’ (sandwich and coffee) marketplace. With a customer list encompassing most of the large supermarkets and some of the world’s leading quick service restaurant companies, RAP has developed a reputation for its unique problem solving abilities. These skills have enabled the Company to maintain its leading edge in innovation. RAP’s product range shares a number of critical common properties – all of the products are available in compostable and recyclable materials. In addition to its concern for sustainability, RAP’s product range, being available in flat pack format, also heightens transport economies, thus contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions. –

The product range currently comprises:
• Flexible Food Wrap (FFW) – the FFW is a combination of lightweight paper or film attached to a profiled carton board. The choice of paper or film, together with the different pack shapes makes the range suitable for a wide variety of hot or cold food items.
• Short Life Carton Sandwich Wedge (SLCSW) – a unique, patented design comprising a printed board container finished with a PLA/corn starch, anti mist window for product visibility.
• Long Life Carton Sandwich Wedge (LLCSW) – an extension of the SLCSW, the LLCSW can withstand a one day process and two day shelf life, creating a unique carton packaging system that can be fully adapted to lead the worldwide market in long life sandwiches.
• Short Life Food Tray – the technology of the LLCSW has been applied to a salad tray suitable for a range of salad types and other such types of food. Its benefits include greater shelf impact and excellent technical performance.
• Long Life Food Tray – the technology of the LLCSW has been applied to a salad tray suitable for a range of salad types and other such types of food. Its benefits include greater shelf impact and excellent technical performance.
• Softpack™ - a revolutionary food packaging system, based upon an innovative flow wrap line. Softpack™ provides a greater surface area for graphics and messages, which clearly differentiates it from the traditional film flow packs with labels applied.
